Male Problems

Male problems leading to infertility are the most common and affect 40-50% of infertile couples. A semen analysis collected with the right timing will offer information about total count, volume, motility, normal-appearing sperm, viscosity, and potentially infections that may lead to problems fathering children. Abnormal semen analysis for fertility is interpreted differently than the normal ranges given in the report. Medication changes as well as lifestyle changes and nutritional supplementation may improve the semen analysis as well as help with fertility. Medical treatments are also prescribed to men to enhance fertility. Although rare, major abnormalities may require a visit to a urologist who specializes and is knowledgeable about male fertility. Dr. Coussons can recommend treatments based on prior semen analysis or order semen analysis in your location and review the results with you. Urology referrals or treatment recommendations can also be made with telemedicine.
