  • Your Surgical Care

Many gynecologic surgeries can now be performed in the office or at a hospital using minimally invasive, robotic-assisted techniques

Prior to your surgery, you will receive instructions from the staff on how to prepare. You may also be asked to stop taking certain medications that could lead to increased bleeding, and you will be informed of any dietary restrictions as well.

Most women are able to undergo the surgery as an outpatient basis, meaning they can go home the same day. Following surgery, there will be some restrictions on activities and you will need a responsible adult to drive you home. Your nurse will carefully review these instructions with you when you are discharged from the office or hospital.

If you are from out of town, Advanced Care for Women can recommend local hotels and Dr Coussons is available while you are in town.

We will schedule a follow-up appointment after your surgery and we will work closely with your hometown physician to ensure a smooth transition of care.

  • Follow-Up Care

All surgeries involve the risk of complications, such as bleeding and infection. It’s important that you notify your physician of any unexpected problems that may possibly occur in the days and weeks following your surgery.

You will schedule several follow-up visits with Dr. Coussons. It’s important to keep these appointments so you can be sure your recovery is progressing normally.

The Green Bay Area

Getting to Know Green Bay/History and Tradition

Situated on the beautiful waters of the Bay of Green Bay, the City of Green Bay is most widely known for its NFL football team, the 13-time world champion Green Bay Packers. Established in 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau, the Packers are named for the Indian Packing Company which initially paid for the team uniforms.

The Packers and Lambeau Stadium are year-round attractions for tens of thousands who visit here every year. Even during the off season, the Packers offer tours of Lambeau Field, welcoming visitors to the Packers Hall of Fame and also offer unique shopping and dining experiences in the Lambeau Atrium.

Green Bay and the surrounding area are also known for their natural beauty and four seasons. There are some 3,000 square miles of the bay and its shores that attract a variety of wildlife, including migrating birds, deer, foxes, coyotes and waterfowl.

Over the centuries, hardworking men and women built Green Bay into the thriving city that it is today. It has a wide assortment of locally-owned shops, unique restaurants and world-class spas. Green Bay offers something for everyone.
